JUNIOR COACHING
The club is not proposing to go overboard with this at present as it requires huge commitments. There is demand however and it is something we can gradually introduce and offer predominantly to dependent's of members for the time being. This will start with a dedicated Lane or Lanes run by HELEN at WALTERS swim coached session on Saturday 28th November 1800 hrs. Helen will be solely responsible for those Juniors not comfortable or able to swim in the Adult lanes and will conduct her training based at the opposite end of the pool to Walter in order that instructions and coaching does not clash.
If this proves popular it is hoped to arrange similar at future Ampleforth Training sessions.
Remember IF you have a child who is comfortable and able to swim with the Adults they are always welcome to attend within the normal swim training rather than in any dedicated Junior lanes.

One of our Gazeebos is missing!? Well I am actually sure that somebody borrowed a large 6x3 metre NYP Tri Gazeebo on the Sunday straight after Ripon Tri but for the life of me I cannot at the moment remember who. It was the dark blue one that was used as the massage shelter this year. If it was yourself who borrowed it could you please contact me ASAP so that the club can keep a record of its whereabouts. AMPLEFORTH CLUB TRAINING SESSIONS - WOW!!
Just look at the numbers who have put their names down for the up coming sessions at Ampleforth. With the Lake at Ripon now getting a touch chilly and a wee bit weedy it is great to see so many down for the spinning and swimming sessions in September, October, November and December at The Ampleforh Leisure centre. Although the spin classes are limited to 10 bikes, and there are only a few slots left, there is still plenty of room in the pool for the swimming sessions. I hope to be at the session on the 26th September and am happy to look at the possibility of bi weekly sessions IF there is the demand and IF Jane Butler can offer the use of Ampleforth. Walter will not be able to run all the swim sessions but we have Ampleforth's swim coach Helen able and willing to run the swim sessions when Walter cannot. SCIENTIFIC TESTING
Chris Simpson, a Sports Scientist from York will be offering vo2 max testing to all athletes from White Rose Clinic 108 Haxby Road, in York,
the test consists of a body composition analysis test, a resting metabolic rate test and a vo2 max test , with a comprehensive breakdown and explanation of all the results and how best to use them, the price is 99 pounds for club members. Chris is a keen triathlete and has completed the E'tape twice gaining bronze on both occasions.

CLUB AGM
A date will be fixed for this at the Post Ripon Tri Meeting. All involved with The Ripon Tri and the running of the club will desperately need to recharge their batteries so we will not be setting a date for the AGM before the 2010 season. Once it is set it will be a social function with food and beverages and we would like as many to attend as possible. please watch this notice board for further details!
A decision was made at the last Ripon meeting that the AGM will be in the new year prior to the 2010 season.
